Proving once and for all that size and power are not mutually exclusive, this RCA 200-watt shelf system fills up a room with full-bodied sound while measuring less than 10 inches wide. The compact dimensions make it a good fit for narrow entertainment cabinets or bookshelves with little horizontal room. Despite its small size, the system still plays a wide variety of formats thanks to RCA’s Neo-5 five-CD changer, cassette deck, and AM/FM tuner. The CD changer is a particular favorite, as it lets you enjoy several hours of consecutive music without having to swap out stale CDs for new ones. The changer also offers a play exchange function, which lets you add new CDs to the mix without interrupting the current selection. Meanwhile, listeners can either play old audiocassettes or record new ones on the logic cassette deck, or turn to the 32 AM/FM presets to quickly select their favorite station.
