Panasonic SC-HT95 5-Disc DVD Home Theater System Specifications
Get dynamic, full-bodied surround sound and high-resolution images from Panasonic’s stylish, high-quality SC-HT95 home theater. The system consists of a compact audio/video receiver coupled with a progressive-scanning five-disc DVD-Video/DVD-Audio changer, a five-channel speaker package, and a 135-watt powered subwoofer.
Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you’re merely thinking of “someday,” the SC-HT95 stands ready to deliver the full potential of DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. A 10-bit, 54 MHz video digital-to-analog converter further ensures crystal-clear, vivid images from discs.
With the AV receiver, you’ll get the convenience of Dolby Digital and DTS surround processing as well as compatibility with high-resolution DVD-Audio. DVD-Audio discs provide multichannel and stereo sound, incredible storage capacity, and unique bonus materials not available on regular audio CDs.
The DVD player also plays recordable CDs full of MP3 music files, providing the ability to load the changer with more than 50 consecutive hours of near-CD-quality music. For movies, Panasonic’s dialogue enhancer (coupled with the system’s 80-watt powered center speaker) makes human voices more intelligible, a great feature for late-night viewing when you want to keep the sound low but still follow what’s being said.

[if After about two years the player destroyed a new dvd.
The changer messed up and will not eject the other disks in the player. After it was taken apart and the other disks removed my dad found that a small mod will make it a single disk player but still usable. Still has great sound but only a single disk player.]

External Devices Don’t work – John S. Holder – Raleigh, NC
I purchased this system several years ago and have enjoyed viewing DVD’s on this system. Until recently I never bothered to run my cable box (HDTV) through it, mostly due to the fact that I thought I was doing something wrong when trying configure the system. I could never get it to work. I have now learned that my sytem will not play ANY external devices. Now, I’m going to have to pay for service on this system that probably never worked correctly out of the box.
It was worth 2 years only – Mahesh N. Iyer – Oregon
I never expected panasonic products to work just for 2 years. It broke down exactly in 2 years. The main carousel changer started malfunctioning. The DVD player used to get stuck…
Overall…bad product…bad investment,…Dont buy it!
Awesome sound, but DVD function broke after 2 years – D. Sparks – North Texas
Other reviews are right: It takes about 2 years before the DVD player malfunctions. Ours did last night, after purchasing it in Oct 2002. We’re looking at significant repair costs. Awesome sound is N/A if you can’t enjoy the main function of the unit (video).
